Roasted Butternut Squash
To prepare a roasted butternut squash, you will need ingredients such as,
- Medium sized butternut squash – One
- Extra virgin olive oil – 1 tablespoon

Cut the butternut squash into two lengthy halves. Remove the seeds by scooping it with a spoon. Peel of the skin with a peeler else cut it into big clumps. If you are peeling off the skin using a knife, hold the squash steady over the cutting board. Pre heat the microwave oven to 400 degree Fahrenheit.
Slice the squash into 1 inch blocks and transfer it to a big, rendered baking sheet. Add olive oil, pepper and salt and disperse it into a single bed. Roast it in the oven for 30 minutes until golden brown. But while roasting the butternut squash, the valuable nutrients of it will be destroyed.
Steam-Baked Butternut Squash
Unlike the roasted butternut squash, no valuable nutrients of the squash will be lost in stem-baking. To prepare a stem-baked butternut squash, along with a squash it requires,
- Brown sugar or honey
First, cut the squash into two lengthy halves and cut side down. Now place it upside down into a glass baking dish. Add a half cup of water into the baking dish and cover it tight with a foil. Bake it in an oven for about 1 hour at 350 degree Fahrenheit. Then remove it from the oven and let it to cool down slightly before handling. Remove the seeds and the membrane from the squash.
