Daniella Maria Deutscher is an American actress which also can be known under her model name as Daniella Wolters. You may know her for playing the role of Julie Connor on the American Saturday morning TV debut series “Hang Time” from 1995 to early 2000.
Who Is Daniella Deutscher?
Education And Family
She was born in Bozeman, Montana United States, on 4th October 1975. As a kid her parents were moving quite often, so she lived in the Netherlands (her mother’s birthplace), Australia, and Olympia, Washington. Before becoming an actress, as a young child, Daniella wanted to become a basketball player. At the of 9, her younger brother Johan introduced her to basketball, playing together, she instantly developed an interest in the sport. She started her education at the local Olympia High School in Bozeman. Soon, Daniella began playing for her school’s basketball team on varsity for 4 years. Her determination made her one of the top players. However, after suffering a serious injury in one of her games, her dream for the sport suddenly came to a halt. Basketball became a long old dream and a previous life. This forced her to switch interests about her future career. Subsequently, she graduated from the University of Southern California (USC).
The actress is a fan of Taekwondo, apparently skilled as well after training for a while.
Behind The Scenes Of Her Professional Acting Career
Daniella started her career as a model and went to work in Japan. Not sure how that went but she went back to the US and took a theater course before her acting career begins. Eventually, she got an opportunity to work in a production for a few plays such as “Shakespeare’s Midnight Summer Night’s Dream”, “The Crucible”, and “Our Town”. Surely now, this was definitely
To Be.
In 1995, Daniella played in a spy trailer drama “Drifting School” as Caroline. In the same year, she had her biggest starring role in the American teen sitcom “Hang Out” which aired on NBC every Saturday morning. She played the character of Julia Connor in who was the only girl on a boys’ basketball team. In this teenager series, she co-starred alongside Megan Parlen, Chad Gabriel, Hillary Tuck, Antony Anderson, and later her then to be husband, Jay Hernandez. The series centers on the boy’s exploits playing for the high school basketball team. This is where the team’s coach and former NBA player, decides to make Julie’s team have the first female basketball player soon after showing her many skills and talent. An interesting fact is that Daniella and Megan (the head cheerleader called Mary) were the only two members of the crew who played in every 104 episodes in all 6 seasons from 1995 to late 2000. Her next small appearance was in 1999, in another TV series “Malibu” as Jocelyn.
Deutscher’s first film debut was in 2003, playing the role of Wendy Teller in the movie “Special Forces”. Her character portrayed an American journalist held captive by a Muldonian warlord. Her acting was well accepted by the critics but the movie was a big box-office disaster. Nothing biased but the film was indeed terrible!
In 2005, Daniella appeared in another comedy-drama television series “Las Vegas”, a show focused on a team of people working at the fictional Montecito Resort and Casino, dealing with the issues within the working environment. Again broadcast by NBC from 2003 to 2008. The year after she played in the TV pilot “Aquaman” as Atlanta. The pilot was available on iTunes in the US and became the number one most downloaded TV show on iTunes. Another small role Deutscher had, was in the hit soap opera series “The Bold and The Beautiful” for you 80’s kids. And no, nothing about hair loss. Mainly about glitz, glamour, divorces, alcoholism, and deaths. A good watch if you’ve binge-watched all the Netflix series…just don’t go towards the “Special Forces” path – life surely cannot be that bad.
Marriage With Jay Hernandez
Daniella and Jay met for the first time on the set while filming the TV series “Hand Out”. As she was part of the cast for the entire run, Hernandez appeared on the sitcom from 1998 through 2000. Apart from that, Hernandez debuted in popular movies to include the likes of; the romantic drama “Crazy/Beautiful”, sports drama television series “Friday Night Lights”, the horror film “Hostel”, the American superhero film “Suicide Squad”, and the comedy film “Bad Moms”.
Jay’s latest movie project was borrowing the voice in the blockbuster movie “Toy Story 4” as Bonnie’s dad.
His rich acting background gave him a well estimated net worth of $4 million, while Daniela has an average $80k. That’s what I call smart love, smart marriage. Jay Hernandez is a successful actor and a model as well. And rather boyish yet handsome looking Mexican American “wey” dude. Strong 7. The couple got married in 2006 and have no children yet. Daniella and her 3 years younger husband currently reside in LA, sunny California. She’s 45 so not certain if the baby thing is ever part of a plan – she must push on a bit if it is so. Tick Tock Mrs. Hernandez.
