But, this is not true for all star couples. A Celebrity Marriage means the glamorous marriage of high society; the couples are mostly stars of Entertainment Industry. The term has negative connotation because of high rate of divorces among the couples; relationships are generally short-lived. It’s a widespread tendency in Mass Media to report bad marriages of famous couples.
There are many reasons inherent to stardom’s lifestyle which is responsible for short-lived relationships. When marriage is used as publicity stunt to climb the ladder of career then it is bound to collapse sooner or later. Some of the major factors responsible for the divorces are: immaturity of couples, infidelity and unrealistic dreams. The successful couples of the Hollywood or entertainment industry don’t get as much media coverage as the negative ones do. So we have decided to highlight the long lasting marriages of celebrity couples. We have chosen 10 out of the long list of happily-married-long-lasting famous couples.

1. Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith – 19 years
They met first in 1990 when Jada Pinkett was auditioning for sitcom, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air as Smith’s girlfriend character. Although, she could not become reel life girl friend but their fondness grew over time and Jada became Smith’s real life wife in 1997. The wedding was talk of the town and topic of celebrity gossip which was held at the Cloisters near Baltimore. They have two children, Willow Smith & Jaden Smith. Will Smith has one son, Trey Smith, from his previous marriage.
2. Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson – 27 years
Their happy marriage started on April 30, 1988 when Hanks married his film Volunteers’ co-star Rita Wilson. The couple are blessed with 2 children: Chester Hanks, their elder son & the younger one is Truman Theodore who was born in 1995. Tom has got two more children from his previous marriage with actress Samantha Lewes. The queen of the Oscars is accomplished in another field too, holder of one of the longest celebrity marriages. On 30th September, 1978 she married sculptor, Don Gummer. They have 4 children: Daughters, Louisa, Grace & Mamie and son, Henry. She believes conversation is the key to a successful marriage, she told New Zealand Women’s Weekly, “You have to talk about all the issues that arise, even the smallest things. 6. Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick – 27 years
They met on the set of PBS’ Lanford Wilson’s play Lemon Sky and married on September 4, 1988. They also have starred together in Loverboy, The Woodsman, Pyrates and Murder in the First. The couple got 2 children, Travis Sedgwick & Sosie Ruth. Kevin realizes his strength, “The time I was hitting what I considered to be bottom was also the time I met my wife, our kids were born, good things were happening.
